Hi lovelies 👋,
Hope you are all doing well post the eclipse [note: eclipse energy is with us for up to 6 months]. But from what I’ve heard, some of you might be feeling all spacey, jangly or maybe more irritated than usual. Maybe a bad headache or migraine. You might even be feeling fractious! [which is such a good word!] Or you can see that people in your life are feeling off.
If that’s the case - might I suggest a little more grounding?
It seems like each one of these posts will all have a little blurb where I talk about my past self and how I interrupted things then, as compared to now. This probably makes sense, because it’s how and why I’ve progressed and learned that is the point of It’s a Spiritual Life. To continue…
I should say, and I’ll talk about this more, but I realllllllly avoided meditating hard for ten years, I didn’t start to do a daily practice until early 2019. I would occasionally do a guided meditation but oddly enough I had a lot of internal resistance and my body simply didn’t feel safe.
Somewhere around 2016 or 2017, I started going to a practitioner who did acupuncture and reiki. She was deeply spiritual and I think had studied aspects of shamanism [which I currently know very little about, but it and sacred geometry are pulling me to learn more]. I would go to her office and we’d get set up and she’s always comment that I needed grounding.
To me, it always felt like a bit of a scold.
First, imagining roots coming out of my feet into the earth felt silly and useless, like as if that did anything! And secondly, I interpreted grounding as meaning I was all airy fairy and not grounded in reality.
And that felt annoying and insulting as fuck. Because to me at the time it felt like all I did was grind away in ‘reality’.
But gradually. So slowly. Over years and then as I started meditating, I realized grounding is needed. It’s only recently I understand more about why, and I can feel there’s still more to know.
Which is the joy of the student, there’s always more to learn.
And this has become even more important as the frequency on the planet is going up. Now that I can trans channel source energy, it means grounding is even more important. Why?
Imagine a tree without any roots reaching up to receive light from the heavens. You reach too high and you topple right over. Spiritual practices can tend to focus only on the ‘higher’ chakra’s but that’s ignoring the body, and no good can come from that. But that’s for another post.
WHY is grounding needed?
Why grounding is much more than just imaging roots coming out of your feet. 🌲 [although that does help!]
I swear I even studied Physics in high school, but I somehow missed how electrical currents work! This key part - ‘Grounding is the process of connecting a conductor or an electrical device to the earth, effectively providing a safe and stable path for excess electricity to escape. This reduces the risk of electrical shock, electrocution, and fires caused by unexpected voltage spikes or short circuits.’
Well, we be electrical beings too. Like seriously. I hadn’t really thought about it like that, but it’s why defibrillators are used to restart or reset heart beats. Our bodies are about 70% water, we conduct electricity and our body is run through electrical signals.
And while I’m not an expert at this and you can of course choose to believe what you wish - our bodies are apparently receiving energy from the sun, the solar system, galaxy and beyond(?). The magnetic field of earth is decreasing and more energy is coming through.
Our ancestors spent a lot more time outside, and much much more time that we do with their bare feet on the ground. This actually discharges built up energy in the body into the earth - so called earthing.
WAYS you can GROUND
bare feet on the ground, if you’re feeling funky, then more time is good. I tend to do it 2-3 times a day - first thing in the morning and then after spending a lot of time on my computer or phone. You can walk around, dance, tap your feet, what feels right. [I do it even in winter, but not as much as you can imagine.]
breathing (always good, 😂) You can just close your eyes and inhale, imagining the breath coming up from below your body, up through the top of your head and then exhale, following the breath down your body and into the earth. Doing that 10-15 is quick and might be surprisingly helpful.
to my disbelieving minds’ surprise; words, visualization and imagination work! It seems so unlikely but - Nancy Rebecca, [there’s a few links to her videos below] teaches that using your imagination is a gateway to your intuition. Which explains something I’d come to know but didn’t know why it works.
salt water baths - I personally love using the pink himalayan sea salt, but that’s just because epson’s salt did nothing but irritate me
cold plunge in a lake, ocean or cold tub, if you are willing
This video is excellent! The breathing technique is a bit similar to WimHof’s but works better for me, his is too fast. LOVE this one, and have been doing it a lot more lately. This is deeply relaxing! Couple notes: as she says, adjust it to work for you, I can’t do the holds quite that long, and I still get the benefit of feeling great. I also wear a sleep mask to meditate - is that weird? I find it turns my eyes off, which dials down my brain and makes it much easier to go inside.
In other news this week:
The energy just keeps popping. This weekend, we have an exact conjunction (coming together at the same degree) between Jupiter (great benefic) and Uranus (great awakener). This is the definition of electric. Sudden shocks, changes, things could move super quick and feel super buzzy.
So that seems like a GREAT time to my first group channeling, 😝. We’ll see how that goes. I will share the recording in an upcoming post on channeling. And for anyone who would like to join live - please do!

What have I been studying this week:
Enjoyed both of Nancy Rebecca’s videos:
First was about what she saw with the eclipse - she’s a strong clairvoyant so some super fascinating things
Watched an interesting interview Pam Gregory (astrologer) did with Rob Comber He’s channeled in what sounds like a LOT of information about the Lost Octave - I’ve preordered the book and will report back
Thank you for reading! ♥️
If you’d like to share this post with anyone in your life who you think would enjoy these topics, that would be great.
If you feel like it, please share in the comments any experiences about the eclipse or grounding or anything else of course!
And a big HUGE thank you to those who choose to become paid subscribers. I super appreciate you supporting the creation of this work 😊!
I meant to say, it's fabulous that we can either read or listen to your podcast 🙏
Hey Trish. Thankyou for your wise words. It's easy to overlook the simplicity of grounding, a super reminder!
I'm working Saturday evening, 8pm time here for your zoom meet. Will you be recording it by any chance 🤔😄
Much love & sunshine 🌞
